Digital advertisements first appeared on websites and then began to spread across the internet. Advertisements are placed on videos, messaging apps and even games, including social networking sites. Users come across sponsored posts rather than regular content on some platforms that exaggerate.
Twitter has started to develop a feature that will popularize the ads within the application. According to the news announced by Twitter’s Product Leader Bruce Falck, ads will now appear in replies to tweets. Explaining that they have started the testing process around the world, Falck said that the innovation is available in Android and iOS applications.
Twitter ads won’t appear on every reply
Bruce Falck announced on his social media account that they will add ads to the first, third or eighth reply under the tweet. There’s a bit of a size difference between ads in conversations and those on the homepage. In the test video that Falck posted, the response ads appear to be rectangular and smaller than those on the homepage.
Bruce Falck said in a tweet on the subject that they will test how this ad format affects people and conversations. Explaining that they are also investigating different points where they can add ads within the application, Falck said, “We will examine what we have learned and we will understand if there is something we need to make permanent.”
In addition, Bruce Falck stated that the new feature creates a huge opportunity for advertisers and content creators. Reply ads are currently available on Twitter’s Android and iOS apps. Desktop version is not supported yet. If the company insists on bringing this experience to life, it will be available to all users in the coming days.
When Twitter starts trying a new feature, it starts with mobile first and then moves it to desktop.
