After its disappointment with Exynos chipsets, Samsung has reportedly decided to use only the Snapdragon chipset in the Galaxy S23. So whether the new Snapdragon chipset is as good as Apple’s latest chip in the iPhone 14 Pro becomes an even more important question. And it looks like the new chip could be even better than anticipated.

According to famous leakster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), both the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will outperform the A16 Bionic in terms of graphics performance. The source of the leak has also released benchmark data for the Dimensity 9200’s Mali-G715 Immoralis MC11 GPU. According to this data, it has an 11-core GPU and can run GFXBench’s Manhattan Offscreen 1080p test at an average of 328 fps.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will reportedly perform slightly better than the Dimensity 9200. This result is better than the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s 292fps in the same test. If this result is correct, Android phones, including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra, are likely to outpace their biggest rivals, iPhones, in gaming and graphics processing.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Dimensity 9200 will be introduced very soon. And the Galaxy S23, which will be announced in the first quarter of 2023, will bring improvements in processing performance, power efficiency and wireless connectivity. Also, the upcoming smartphone lineup is expected to offer longer battery life thanks to higher power efficiency and slightly larger batteries.
