Apple plans to launch the fourth-generation iPhone SE in 2024 with major design changes. It is stated that a decision has not yet been made on the screen size of the iPhone SE 4, which is stated to adopt a design similar to the iPhone XR.
According to the sharing of panel analyst Ross Young, Apple is evaluating 5.7-inch or 6.1-inch screen options for the iPhone SE 4. It is also stated that Apple is considering purchasing 6.1-inch OLED screens from two suppliers and 5.7-inch to 6.1-inch LCD screens from two different suppliers. However, there is uncertainty about whether the device will use OLED or LCD technology.
iPhone SE 4 will be similar to XR
Apple has been using OLED displays since the iPhone 12, and the iPhone SE is currently the only LCD device. Therefore, we can see the transition to OLED in this model, but there is also an increase in the price point.
Regardless of whether Apple will use a 5.7-inch or 6.1-inch display, Young believes the iPhone SE 4 will feature a notched full-screen design. However, it is unclear whether the company will bring Face ID to the ‘SE’ series. Another possibility is that the company will embed Touch ID into the power button, similar to the iPad Air and iPad mini 6.
