iOS 16.1 reportedly has an issue that has been bothering iPhone and iPad users a lot: frequent Wi-Fi disconnections.
The issue, first reported by MacRumors, refers to the random disconnection of Wi-Fi after Apple devices update to iOS 16.1. The number of complaints from users on Twitter and Reddit is not small. Users who have reported problems say that the problem occurs when the connection is disconnected and reconnected every 10 seconds.
Some complaints suggest that the situation could be even more interesting. While there is no problem with the browser, apps like Zoom / Google Meet disconnect from Wi-Fi and make the call in 5G. It stops working when the Wi-Fi connection is established.
Apple is known to be working on this issue. But there are also some workarounds suggested in the meantime.
Theoretically the most common solution is to forget the Wi-Fi network and add it again. While some say it works to fix the problem, others say it doesn’t make any difference to them.
At the moment it is not entirely clear how widespread this is. But there seems to be an alarming amount of complaints about it.
