Samsung announced its earnings for the third quarter of 2022 at its event and announced that it has appointed Lee Jae-yong as Chief Executive Officer.
During the earnings announcement, the company revealed that its smartphone division is performing well in terms of business. In the midst of the recession in the smartphone market, the company mentioned that its high-end phones such as Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 performed well.
Accordingly, the company seems to have managed to generate significantly more revenue with the Galaxy S22 series in 2021 than the Galaxy S21 series. The presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in more markets may have had a positive impact on Galaxy S22 sales. Compared to Snapdragon models with Exynos processors, low performance was remarkable; even the users in our country were complaining about this situation a lot. The company has launched the Snapdragon variant of the phone in many countries this time, which may have led to better sales.
The company also improved its software update policy this year. With the launch of the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung has announced that it will offer up to 4 major Android OS updates to all of its high-end phones and some mid-range devices. All these factors may have contributed to better revenue from the Galaxy S22 series.
