In recent years, the automotive market has been adversely affected by many factors such as the chip crisis, the pandemic, and the Russia-Ukraine war. During this period, sales fell and prices skyrocketed for many reasons, such as the unavailability of the necessary components. In fact, there are no vehicles left in the galleries, which were filled to the brim until a few years ago. In this period, as we approach the end of 2022, small recovery occurred in the sector and pre-pandemic levels began to be caught. So which was Europe’s best-selling car in September?
Europe’s best selling car
According to the latest report shared by JATO Dynamics, Tesla Model Y was the best-selling car in Europe last month. It is possible to say that Tesla Gigafactory, which the automobile giant has implemented in Berlin, has the biggest share in the vehicle’s being at the top. Because of this, the production capacity of the model increased and the demands were quickly responded to.
The report states that Tesla Model Y sold 29,367 units in September. This corresponds to an increase of 227 percent when compared to the same period of the previous year. Apart from that, the second best-selling car in Europe last month was the Peugeot 208 and the third was Dacia Sandero.
As it is known, it was previously announced that the Model Y is the best-selling vehicle in Germany and the second best-selling vehicle in the UK. This being the case, it is not surprising that it dominates the European market in general.
