According to the news of Cumhuriyet; The date on which the legislation on the necessity of emergency lane keeping system, alcohol lock installation preparation, driver inattention and attention warning system will come into force in new vehicles has been determined as 7 July 2024. On the other hand, the alcohol lock installation preparation regulation was published in the European Official Journal on 30.07.2021 and entered into force.
With the alcohol lock installed on the vehicles, drivers who exceed a certain limit will be prevented from driving, and thus accidents will be minimized. According to recent reports, alcohol-related accidents account for about 25 percent of all road deaths.
