5 Scientific Scenarios to Make a Zombie Disaster Possible

A disease arises, it is contagious, millions die, but are reborn as a creature. . . The story is always the same. What if we told you that there is a "Zombie Preparation" guide on the official website of the World Health Organization? Things are starting to get a little weird now. Welcome to the new episode of our TeknoFuture series.

READING NOW 5 Scientific Scenarios to Make a Zombie Disaster Possible

Now we won’t be talking at length about popular zombie disaster-themed movies or TV shows. The starting point is always the same in these productions, where science fiction is blended with horror and tension. While some of them tell stories as well as they can, the zombie issue has become a laughing stock due to bad productions.

Regardless, almost everyone is in control of the zombie thing thanks to those TV shows and movies. At least we know the fact that humans have become monstrous and act out of animal instincts. At the same time, they bruise, bruise, often act with motor functions without thinking, they do not die when they are not shot in the head, they do not feel pain. . .

All these accumulations really take the subject to a point that seems absurd. Actually, we are dealing with a very serious issue. In saying this, we lean on the World Health Organization, which is fighting infectious diseases in every corner of the world. Now, “What’s the big corporation doing with the zombie disaster?” don’t say. As part of a “Zombie Preparedness” campaign held in 2011, broadcasts were made on the Internet on how to protect people from disaster. In schools, students were given lectures on the same subjects. The site still contains explanations on how to survive a disaster, it is said that the organization is prepared for a possible disaster.

Let’s make a small explanation for those who ask what the subject has to do with technology: Molecular biology, medical solutions, biological weapons and more provide enough reasons for a small, very small virus to become widespread. In the meantime, there is the possibility of population control, which we covered in the previous second part of our TechnoFuture series.

In this episode, let’s take a closer look at zombies, those catastrophic possibilities where rotting, rotten, and diseased people roam. All of the topics we will cover are scientific hypotheses.

5. A brain parasite found in nature, found in half of the human population:

Toxoplasmosis gondii.

A malevolent single-celled parasite that preys on the brains of its victims, disabling the human faculties. Today, it is a creature that can infect humans and lives for long periods of time without showing its existence. It is also known to be seen in birds, mice and cattle, but can only reproduce in the intestines of cats. When it takes effect, it causes an acute disease called “toxoplasmosis”.

So how could it cause a zombie disaster?

More than half of the people in the world are regularly infected with toxoplasmosis. Maybe you are one of them. Another detail that has been determined is that these people are more prone to lose their mental balance. In fact, mice already infected with the same disease literally become zombies. Imagine suddenly that this creature mutates and becomes more effective on humans. Even suppose that this mutation was created artificially in a laboratory environment and used as a biological weapon.

4. Neurotoxins used in medical operations:

Some poisons found in nature can bring the end of your bodily functions. Although the probability of these poisons coming to your home and infecting you is low, the poison of Fugu fish in Japan can do this. There is more:

Chemical compounds produced by the plant, known as Datura Stromonium or colloquially “tubular flower”. When people are poisoned with these chemicals, the parts of their brains that deal with memories go into a trance. All that remains is an unqualified creature that eats, sleeps, constantly groans and trembles.

So how could it cause a zombie disaster?

It wasn’t actually a disaster. Local priests living in Haiti in the 1960s used such chemicals in appropriate doses to get people to work in sugar fields for long periods of time. Despite everything, it should be noted that people who go into a trance are not aggressive. So if one day you see disaster where these toxins are contagious, you won’t have to run away from those people. Again, it must be hard to see people groaning and trembling everywhere.

3. Mad cow disease that turns people into an angry monster:

There is a disease that already exists in nature: mad cow. As the name suggests, this disease infects cattle, affects their brains and spinal cords, and turns them into aggressive creatures. If the meat of animals with this disease is consumed by humans, then the color of the work changes.

The human version of mad cow disease is called Creutzfeldt-Jakob. Here are the symptoms that will sound familiar to you from somewhere:

  • Disruptions in walking
  • hallucination
  • Muscle twitches
  • Seizures
  • Dementia

Studies show that there is no need for things that are impossible for this disease to affect a widespread population. Moreover, since it can be transmitted by blood and saliva, it is possible for extremely insane people to infect you by biting you. Movies are not as fake as you might think, never forget.

2. Neurogenes revealed by stem cell research:

Stem cells offer perhaps the most ambitious treatment modalities in the history of medical science, used to regenerate dead cells. It has many advantages such as the reproduction of organs and the resurrection of tissues destroyed as a result of diseases. But is it possible to produce a brain with stem cells?

The part of the brain that distinguishes us from other living things is called the cortices. You don’t need a cortex to live. Even if you’re only left with your brain stem, you can continue to breathe. You turn into a creature that just eats, you live without human activities. A person with a brain disease can only be kept alive with the brain stem, and places damaged by diseases such as cancer are treated with stem cells. During this time, the person literally lives as a zombie.

Techno-biological weapons: Nanobots

Let’s come to the scenario where new generation technologies are most involved. . . Ever heard of microscopic robots? Currently, we can build computers in a grain of salt and develop materials with atomic thickness. The times when we will see self-replicating microscopic robots are very, very close. A significant number of scientists argue that this issue should be prevented.

So how could they cause a zombie disaster?

Today, forms known as nano-cyborgs can be produced by fusing a small silicon chip with viruses. These robotic viruses can live up to 1 day after the living thing they enter dies. Under normal circumstances, those viruses have to die. In the next 10 years, robots that can enter our brain and treat damaged areas will be produced. These robots will restore the broken communication of nerve endings.

What do you think will happen after we die with robots in our brains? If suitable conditions can be met, these robots have no obstacles to reactivate your motor functions. At least as a walking, rotting body, you can live for another month without you.

The transition of robots to a new host body in order to work continuously also takes the scenario to a terrible point. The cortices in the brains of the host bodies where the robots meet may be disabled, and you may encounter swarms of people who live meaninglessly with only the brain stem.

We have now left behind a 5-part series of zombie disasters, in which we have evaluated all scientifically possible possibilities. Are you one of those who think that this job is not so imaginary anymore, that TV series or movies actually prepare the whole humanity against some odds? Welcome.
