Polkadot co-founder and CEO Gavin Wood has announced that he is stepping down from his position.
Björn Wagner, his company’s CCO, will take over as the new CEO after Wood steps down.

Polkadot CEO Gavin Wood has announced that he is stepping down.
“The CEO role has never been one that I envied,” Wood told Bloomberg.
Wood will remain the majority shareholder of the company.
Björn Wagner, the company’s CCO after Wood, will serve as Polkadot CEO. Wagner said the following on the subject:
The company that created the Polkadot blockchain has hired a few new executives as the crypto industry often cuts back on staff. Eran Barak, a computer scientist who graduated from Tel Aviv University, has been appointed as the company’s new COO.
After the resignation, the value of DOT dropped by about 1.4%. A 5% decrease in work has been observed in the last 24 hours.
At the time of writing, DOT is trading at $5.80 according to CoinMarketCap data.
