Samsung introduced the new LPDDR5X DRAM, which reaches 8.5Gbps, the fastest speed in the industry for Snapdragon mobile platforms. The South Korean technology giant continued to maintain its leadership in the memory market, surpassing the maximum speed of 7.5 gigabits per second reached in March.

LPDDR5x memory with 8.5Gbps speed

Samsung, which has been among the best in the mobile DRAM market for more than 10 years, continues to work to ensure that consumers experience the fastest speeds on their mobile devices.

Thanks to its low power and high performance features, LPDDR RAM is used in PCs, high performance computing (HPC), servers and automobiles, apart from smartphones. Because LPDDR RAM combines high performance and low power consumption in a small form factor, it has been in high demand, especially in the computer industry, where it helps PC manufacturers make smaller, lighter and more powerful laptops.

LPDDR memory is also becoming an increasingly important component with modern gadgets. As data consumption increases day by day thanks to autonomous driving features, high-bandwidth memory such as LPDDR DRAM is needed to process large amounts of vehicle data at much higher speeds. It also helps reduce power consumption in data centers and servers.

Qualcomm: We did it first in the mobile industry

“We strive to be at the forefront of delivering and adopting the latest memory features on our Snapdragon mobile platforms,” said Ziad Asghar, Vice President, Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies. We are the first to offer LPDDR5x, which delivers 8.5Gbps speeds on Snapdragon mobile platforms. The new LPDDR5x memory will improve the user experience with new features along with improved performance for mobile, gaming, camera and AI applications.” says.
