Societe Generale, one of the largest banks in France, has received approval to offer crypto-asset services through its subsidiary Forge.

France continues to expand its ties to the crypto industry. Binance’s investment in France and Crypto.com’s choice of France for its European Headquarters are great examples of these connections. With the license granted to the country’s third largest bank, Societe Generale, another step has been taken in crypto.

Approval from France to Subsidiary of Societe Generale

The French regulator has approved Societe Generale subsidiary Forge for crypto-asset services.

The approval for Forge by Autorite des Marches Financiers (AMF) comes after approvals for international crypto companies including Crypto.com, Binance and Luno. Through its fully integrated blockchain-focused subsidiary Forge, Societe Generale will now be able to offer services to store, sell and trade crypto assets.

According to the news in The Block, this latest decision by the AMF means that French venture capital firms looking to hide their crypto investments can use the services of one of the most well-known banking players.
