All these space objects can collide with the Earth, and this collision could threaten the planet with a global catastrophe. These asteroids are about 45 million kilometers from Earth’s orbit, and 50 of the 400 new objects are more than 140 meters wide. An asteroid this size could destroy a city.
Some asteroids are more than 1 km wide; which means it can destroy a much larger area on impact. Let us remind you that the station network that detects dangerous meteorites was established in 2004 after the discovery of the asteroid Apophis, which has a high probability of colliding with the Earth.
