During the Ignite 2022 conference, Microsoft developers showed off an image of the Teams app while accidentally revealing the design of the updated version of Windows.

It is stated that the unusual design of the taskbar attracts the attention of the conference audience. The new panel will resemble the dock in macOS and iPadOS instead of the usual lines. These design changes are thought to be part of a project to make the Windows interface universal for use with both the touchscreen and the classic keyboard/mouse combination.

Microsoft aims for a universal interface

According to the image, in Microsoft’s operating system update, the taskbar screen will be rounded, system icons containing date, network and charge level information will be moved to the upper right corner, and the quick search bar will be placed in the upper middle part. On the other hand, how the secret prototype user interface got into Microsoft’s official presentation has been a matter of curiosity.

Finally, let’s also mention that the UI prototype image shown in Ignite 2022 is of very low quality and the resulting design was recreated in a graphic editor to give an idea.
