It is possible to say that Nokia has made significant investments in 5G infrastructure in recent years. In fact, according to the latest reports, these investments have reached the level of 129 billion euros. However, the company could not take the steps it wanted, as it had a long-standing patent dispute with OPPO. This case was brought to the judiciary, and OPPO and OnePlus were unfairly banned in Germany in July. It looks like this process will continue for a long time. Because Nokia took action to ban related companies in different markets.
Nokia wants to ban OPPO and OnePlus in different markets as well
Recently, the strings between popular companies operating in the smartphone industry have been tense. Nokia sued OPPO and OnePlus (both under the umbrella of BBK) for 4G and 5G patents in 4 different countries. Likewise, OPPO responded with a lawsuit filed against Nokia in 9 different countries. In fact, as we mentioned above, there was an important development on the subject in July and two Chinese manufacturers were banned in Germany on the grounds of patent infringement.
According to the latest information, Nokia has now sued OPPO and OnePlus in Australia for violating 5G patents. The Finland-based firm wants to ban the two companies in Australia as well as in Germany. On the other hand, it is stated that the number of these cases will increase in the future.
Nokia’s claims of patent infringement appear to be largely true given the verdict in the case in Germany. Finally, it should be noted that OPPO objected to this decision and the court rejected this objection.
