Intel cuts its workforce
Intel boss Pat Gelsinger had signaled a restructuring within the company some time ago. Sources state that perhaps thousands of people may lose their jobs as part of this restructuring.
The restructuring will be mostly in the end user section. It is on the agenda to dismiss workers from the departments with low performance and to close some departments with them. Sources state that the Intel Optan division will be the first victim.
Finally, Intel, which went into restructuring in 2016, laid off approximately 12 thousand people. Currently, the company has around 133700 employees. It is likely that similar figures will emerge. Intel is expected to announce the new program shortly.
