US-based technology giant Google recently made a statement and announced that it would unplug its cloud gaming service Stadia. The players, on the other hand, reacted to this decision, saying that they used Stadia because they did not have a computer, and they were wondering what would happen next. Now, another bomb move has come from Google. The company introduced the world’s first laptops developed for cloud gaming systems.

Google has been selling laptops under the Chromebook name for years. These sales are carried out by business partners. The same happened this time. Chromebooks focused on cloud gaming have been developed in collaboration with Acer, ASUS and Lenovo. The laptops are called Acer Chromebook 516 GE, ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip, and Lenovo Ideapad Gaming Chromebook.

Here are the world’s first cloud gaming computers

Looking at the statements made; We encounter a 120 Hz display on the Acer Chromebook 516 GE. Powered by Intel’s Core i5 and higher processors, the laptop can be preferred with 8 GB and higher RAM capacities. Engineers, who prefer up-to-date technologies for internet connection, which is important for cloud gaming, used Wi-Fi 6E on this laptop.

When we look at the ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip model, we see a 144 Hz FHD display, Wi-Fi 6 technology, Intel Core i5 and higher processors, and 8 GB or more RAM.

We also encounter 120 Hz screen and Wi-Fi 6E technology in Lenovo Ideapad Gaming Chromebook. Intel Core i3 and above processors and 8 GB and above RAM capacity are offered to consumers.

So how come these computers were introduced specifically for cloud gaming?

You may not have understood how these laptops running the Chrome OS operating system are focused on cloud gaming. Let’s explain now. Google has signed important collaborations for these three models. For example, in cooperation with NVIDIA, the highest level features of the cloud gaming platform called GeForce NOW will be offered to users. Thanks to this cooperation, GeForce NOW games such as Fortnite, Cyberpunk 2077, Crysis 3 Remastered will be accessible at 1600p resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Google’s work isn’t just about GeForce NOW. Collaborating with Microsoft, Google also brought the company’s cloud gaming service, Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is still in beta, to Chromebooks. Thus, access to games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and Forza Horizon 5 was provided.

Quick access for cloud games is also provided.

Another key feature that Google’s cloud gaming Chromebooks have is quick access. According to the statement, a user will be able to click the “Everything” button on the bottom left of the desktop, search for the name of the game and log in directly. Thus, there will be no need for Xbox Cloud Gaming or NVIDIA GeForce NOW application.
