Blockfusion has been ordered to shut down its mining operations in Niagara Falls for violating the city’s zoning code.

As soon as the city’s moratorium on industry was lifted, Blockfusion’s facility was ordered to be closed due to zoning issues. The city of Niagara Falls, New York, which is the epicenter of bitcoin mining and its impact on local communities and communities, has ordered Blockfusion to shut down its work in the area.

Decision for Blockfusion to Close Its Operations in Niagara Falls

Mining firm Bit Digital, which houses 17 percent of Blockfusion machines in Niagara Falls, said in a statement today that information became available just 4 days before the moratorium in the industry was lifted on September 30. The information ordered Blockfusion to discontinue any cryptocurrency mining or related operations at the facility until the city complies with zoning laws.

Bit Digital actually went into effect just one day after the moratorium was lifted and the firm applied for new permits, Blockfusion reported.

In December 2021, Niagara Falls implemented a moratorium on Bitcoin mining so that the city could understand the industry rules. The state of New York adopted a similar measure in June.
