The Antonov An-124, the largest commercially produced aircraft before the Boeing 747-8, was launched in 1982. When it was first introduced, 55 aircraft were produced. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, most of the An-225s were scrapped. The An-124 model is much smaller than the An-225. According to research conducted in August, currently 22 An-124 models are active and in use. The vast majority of these aircraft belong to the Russian Air Force.
