Judging by the new claims, the iPhone SE 4 will have a different design this time and will come with a much larger screen than the iPhone SE (2022).

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch display, as leakster Ross Young, who has a notable track record, told MacRumors. Considering that the current model uses a 4.7-inch screen, we can easily say that this is a big size increase. But with the large bezels and the physical home button being replaced with a notch and thinner bezels, the overall size of the phone may not grow much.

There are also some points that Young has not made a clear statement about. For example, it is not specified whether this notch will host Face ID. The iPhone SE (2022) uses Touch ID instead, but removing the home button and adding a notch could mean a switch to Face ID.

But it may also be possible to stick with Touch ID, as using Face ID probably costs Apple more. For example, it can put the fingerprint sensor on a side button, like some iPads. If this approach is preferred, it’s also possible that the iPhone SE 4 will have a smaller notch than other iPhones, as it won’t need to house many components.

It’s worth noting, though, that this is just speculation for now and we’re not even sure if the next model will have a notch. According to some leaks, the phone may not arrive until 2024. This will make even a phone with a notch look like it’s behind the times.

Still, it’s clear that Apple is happy to stick with older designs, especially on cheaper phone models. Therefore, it should not be too difficult to say that the company will not go directly to a Dynamic Island design on the iPhone SE 4.
