Many automakers are bringing their new vehicles to us to keep up with the electric car revolution. One of the companies making such moves for a greener future is Japan-based Honda. The giant brand plans to launch 30 electric cars and sell 2 million electric vehicles by 2030. The company also aims to become all-electric by 2040 and carbon-neutral by 2050.
Honda has shown its first electric SUV, the 2024 Honda Prologue, for the first time, within the scope of its targets in the past months. The company has now shared the detailed design and a few features of the highly anticipated vehicle.
Here is the design of the Prologue
Scheduled to debut in 2024, Prologue was developed in partnership with General Motors. The vehicle, whose details have not been shared yet, uses the Ultium platform developed by GM and the same batteries as the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV.
Another remarkable part is the 121.8-inch wheelbase of the Prologue, which is made possible by the electric vehicle architecture used. It’s 8 inches longer and 5 inches wider than that of the brand’s CR-V. It should be noted that the distance can also be very beneficial in terms of legroom.
Prologue, which has a simple but modern design, has 21-inch wheels. In addition, we do not see the company’s traditional ‘H’ logo on the rear of the car. The automobile giant chose to write ‘Honda’ using a futuristic font in this section.
In the images from the interior, it would not be wrong to say that this part is one of the best designs we have seen recently from Honda. The company chose to use two large screens in Prologue. The instrument panel is 11-inch fully digital, and the infotainment system is an 11.3-inch touchscreen. It’s also noticeable that Honda doesn’t use touch for things like climate control, but instead uses physical buttons.
There is no information yet about the power, range, other features, and most importantly, the price of the Prologue. Honda says that more details about the vehicle we will see on the roads in 2024 will come in the coming months.
