After the decision to play 5 ads in a row by YouTube in the past days, Instagram is taking a similar step. We can see that the platforms under the umbrella of Meta are drowning in advertisements in the future. Here are the details…

Instagram is making Discover an ad home!

Mark Zuckerberg, who is among the richest people in the world, plans to take the pain of the decrease in Meta’s income from users. According to the latest leaks, the first change to be made will be to play more ads in Instagram, especially on the Discover screen.

Although Instagram was born as a photo sharing platform, it has become a video sharing medium today as a result of the competition of applications such as TikTok, Snapchat and Vine. So much so that with each passing day, videos are more prominent in all shares, especially Discover.

In fact, the increase in advertisements that started last year managed to not attract attention for a long time. It didn’t get much backlash, as we had a chance to avoid the ads that popped up between story posts or scrolling down in Reels.

With the new feature, which is currently in the testing process, advertisements in the form of images or videos, which are between 4 and 10 seconds and then automatically go to the next share, which we can skip because they are not mandatory to watch, will be at the top of the Discover tab.

It is also certain that Meta will bring these and similar ads to Facebook in the future. It should also be noted that WhatsApp’s paid and free-advertised packages, which were very enthusiastic in the past years, but gave up due to the increasing competition of platforms such as Telegram and Signal, are on the agenda again.
