The App Store has lost thousands of apps in recent years. Especially the new store rules and the decreased interest of developers in iOS are some of the most effective reasons for this loss. The SwiftKey app, used on millions of iOS devices, bids farewell to the App Store. But what about existing users? Here are the details…

The popular keyboard app is leaving the App Store!

Apple’s App Store allows users to download applications. It hosts many applications from social media to banks. The app store in question has lost many apps in recent years. Our next app is Swiftkey, the keyboard app.

Microsoft’s SwiftKey keyboard app is being removed from the App Store on October 5. While people who have already downloaded the application will be able to continue using it, it will not be able to be downloaded again from the store. For this reason, if you delete the application, you cannot use it again. Since the application has been discontinued, it will not receive updates as it stands.

The app, which has been used for the iOS and Android keyboard since 2014, was acquired by Microsoft in 2016 and was renamed to Microsoft SwiftKey two years ago. At the same time, the application, which can be used on Android devices, is still supported in the Play Store.

While users complain that the Microsoft SwiftKey application has not received an update in the last 2 years, support for the iOS part of the application has been discontinued. The company did not make a statement about the discontinuation of application support.

SwiftKey Puppets will introduce animoji for Android!

With SK Puppets, you will be able to use the animoji-like feature. SwiftKey, one of Microsoft’s popular applications, published the first video of the new emoji technology on YouTube. With the application in question, Android users will be able to manage detailed facial expressions of three-dimensional animal characters and use their own emojis while messaging.

The new feature, which SwiftKey calls ‘Puppets’, is slowly being offered to Android users. On the app keyboard, you can create panda, cat, dinosaur, owl or dog characters and emojis that detect your smile, blink and head movements.

The company is expected to integrate the ability to record videos with emojis to the application in the near future. This is one of the indicators that SwiftKey, which Microsoft bought for $250 million three years ago, keeps itself up to date.

SwiftKey is a popular keyboard app on Android and iOS operating systems, and its farewell to iOS seems to cause criticism. So what do you think about SwiftKey saying goodbye to the App Store? Don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section!
