Samsung patents dual under-screen camera system for facial recognition system
Samsung is working on dual under-display camera (UDC) technology that will help it improve facial recognition technology. This setup might include a way to scan the phone owner’s face from multiple angles at once. So it creates a 3D/stereoscopic scan to unlock the phone. Currently, UDC technology is only available in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
This new patent received by Samsung was revealed by the Galaxy Club. Thanks to the UDC technology, taking multiple scans from different cameras can provide a more accurate picture, and since the cameras scan the face from different angles, the user’s facial details can be drilled deeper. This would theoretically be less misleading compared to a 2D image. So these two cameras can combine all face recognition and make it more secure.
