Tesla recalled more than a million vehicles due to a problem with its automatic windows.
According to the announcement shared by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem with the windows of the vehicles was quite serious. It was emphasized that the system that allows the windows to close automatically may not work correctly when it encounters an obstacle. It was announced that the number of vehicles affected by the problem was 1 million 96 thousand 762.
Users limbs can get stuck in glass:
The ‘obstacle’ could have been the limbs of the driver or passengers. In this case, the automatically closing windows would not detect the limbs in its path, pinching them and causing injuries. Tesla also announced the solution it found for the problem in question.
According to the details shared by the Administration, the company will upload software updates to all its customers via OTA (over-the-air programming) to prevent this serious problem affecting its vehicles. It was shared that the problem in question can be seen in all Tesla models (Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y).
