Everyone knows the startup sound of Mac computers, but this sound is actually not something we are used to for Apple. All of Apple’s other devices only display the company’s logo to notify users and don’t make a sound during boot.

What’s even more interesting is that the iPhone 14 also has an opening – closing sound. If you want your iPhone 14 to make a sound when turning on or off, you’re in luck: iPhone 14 has startup and shutdown sounds for the first time. However, these features are currently hidden.

First of all, these sounds are not available on older iPhone models. The presence of sound on the new models is not a sales and marketing tactic, and it is not advertised specifically. It’s just a surprise feature that some iPhone users discovered while digging deep into the system settings.

According to the news of 9to5Mac, the boot sounds come inside the A16 chip of the iPhone 14 and are activated when the phone starts to boot. At this stage, iOS isn’t loaded yet, so the chances of the sounds coming out depend on them being in the chip’s firmware. For this reason, it is not possible to have these sounds in old models that do not use this chip.

It’s pretty easy to activate iPhone 14 boot sounds. It is necessary to enter the phone’s settings menu and go under Audio / Video from the Accessibility section. Here is the button to turn the Boot & Shutdown Sounds option off or on. Once enabled, iPhone now turns on or off with a nice sound.
