Confessions of Call Center Employees

The call center is a sector with high employment opportunities. Many individuals who want to enter the business life in our country often prefer this field. As a matter of fact, the working conditions, salaries and difficulties of this sector are a matter of curiosity. For those who are curious about the subject, I interviewed two people working at the same workplace, I asked some questions and they answered my questions sincerely.

We asked a man and a woman working in the same company, who are friends with each other, why they work in this sector, what they have experienced, good and bad, and what their expectations are.

They also shared their experiences with us in order to guide those who want to work in this field. So, let’s listen to the most curious about this sector from them.

Here are the answers of the 25-year-old woman working in the call center:

The working conditions of the call center vary from company to company.

If I were to speak for myself, I had agreed from the beginning with the company I work for that they would work fixed hours and not work on weekends (off). This is the primary reason why I continue to work, but of course it’s not very good either.

As in any industry, experience is required here.

They also look at persuasion and proper diction.

I can say it’s been years since I’ve worked from the office.

Working with my friends is more enjoyable, but home is more comfortable. For example, being a home office, working in pajamas means not having to worry about hair and make-up as a woman. For example, you can make tea and cigarettes while working, it has such a comfortable side.

Salaries are generally in the form of minimum wage + premium.

Frankly, I don’t think we can work in the call center and get our rights. In most call centers, the conditions are heavy, tiring, and the payoff is very low. For example, in this line of work, I saw my friends who rose to a higher position from their current position, but I could never rise.

According to the customer’s needs, we are the first to contact the customer.

We meet the needs of the customer by informing and guiding them.

Actually, I work here out of necessity, not because I love this line of business, but because my previous work experience was only in this field.

Those who can’t get rid of this industry like me will agree with me, I think the call center is a swamp anyway. This is because there is a constant circulation in this area. In other words, there is a continuous recruitment of employees and job opportunities are high. You will continue out of necessity. Afterwards, you will have to continue because you can no longer find a job in better conditions. There is nothing good in general.

Perhaps there is no other profession where mobbing and entitlement are so common. At least I haven’t seen it.

There is a lot of greed and competition here. Of course, there were also workplaces where I made very good friends. However, I do not find most call center personnel sincere and sincere. There is a lot of tendency to lie in our sector, we are lying, this is a fact.

Cooperation between departments is provided only if the manager requests it.

In cases where the manager does not want, each department deals with its own task. No one is willing to step outside of their duty.

The call center is regret, but debt is the whip of the brave.

I would like to say that I am continuing my business based on the strength I get from bank loans.

Now let’s move on to the answers of the 29-year-old male employee:

The call center is a sector that provides career opportunities for high school and college graduates, including university graduates.

I heard from the mediator that the testimonies of those who worked in the call center for 2 years were often invalid.

Obviously, not every project is suitable for home office work in this sector. Therefore, working from home or office varies on a project basis.

Our wages are given as salary + bonus. But some companies also pay for the food and travel expenses of the employees.

I think people can work in call centers and get their rights. In other words, if they didn’t, there wouldn’t be so many jobs.

But this place is a gossip cauldron. Those who work here are like grave workers, everyone undermines each other.

For this reason, mobbing can be done even between friends.

In call centers, in addition to positions such as customer representative, team leader, supervisor, operation manager, manager, job opportunities can be provided in many departments such as finance, human resources, training, business development, sales and marketing, quality, planning, corporate communication, information technologies. .

Those who rise in our company come from within the company. In other words, let’s say the company to be hired for a manager takes this position from within itself, not from outside.

As you can all see, there are similarities as well as differences in the views and experiences of these two people. Well, have you ever worked in a call center before? Or do you continue to work? You can share your views with us in the comments.
