A file shared on GTAForums the other day included the biggest leak in the game world in history. The file in question included in-game videos taken during the development process of GTA 6, which Rockstar is developing. GTA 6 appeared live for the first time.
In-game videos showed the moments during the early development of GTA 6, when various mechanics of the game were tested. While Rockstar Games started to remove the content containing the leak one by one hours after the images were shared, they finally shared a statement. The company has officially confirmed the leak.
Rockstar’s description:
Message from Rockstar Games
“We recently suffered a network attack where an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not expect any disruption to our live game services or any long-term impact on the development of our ongoing projects.
We are extremely disappointed to share any details of our next game with you in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned, and we are as committed as ever to providing you, our players, an experience that truly exceeds your expectations. We’ll let everyone know again soon, and of course, we’ll introduce you to this next game when it’s ready. In this case, we would like to thank everyone for their continued support.”
