Images of Grand Theft Auto 6, the next game of Rockstar’s open world series GTA, have leaked to the internet. PC Gamer reports that a user on the GTA Forums posted a 3GB file filled with 90 GTA 6 images. It’s not entirely clear how the footage was obtained, but the “teapotuberhacker” who shared the post also claims to be behind the unrelated Uber hack late last week, and says it’s coming soon, including the GTA 5 and GTA 6 source code, assets, and test builds. they can leak more data”.
This major leak seems to be in line with some earlier news about GTA 6, which featured a playable female character in some clips. Bloomberg reported earlier this year that GTA 6 will feature a female protagonist influenced by Bonnie and Clyde. Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier said he confirmed the leak is real, through sources at Rockstar Games.
Not that there was much doubt, but I’ve confirmed with Rockstar sources that this weekend’s massive Grand Theft Auto VI leak is indeed real. The footage is early and unfinished, of course. This is one of the biggest leaks in video game history and a nightmare for Rockstar Games

Although the leaked videos were posted on YouTube for a while, they seem to have been removed for copyright reasons at the moment. They continue to exist in many forums and Twitter accounts, but it seems that these are also starting to be removed.
In a released video, a playable female character named Lucia is seen robbing a restaurant and taking it hostage. There is a lot of placeholder text indicating that this is clearly an unfinished game, and it is possible to visually see where the game engine is detecting objects in the scene.
In another clip, he shows a playable character aboard the “Vice City Metro” train, which coincides with reports that the game is set in a fictionalized version of Miami very similar to 2002’s GTA: Vice City. A separate clip features a poolside chat similar to Rockstar’s NPC conversations in Red Dead Redemption 2. A video shows a strip club.

It’s unclear how old the image is, but some seem to work on RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3080 boards, so we can guess that the development build is no more than two years old. Other clips show off new NPC interactions, updated UI and animations, and even Rockstar’s own internal debugging tools for GTA 6 on PlayStation.
This isn’t the first time a Rockstar game has been heavily leaked. Trusted Reviews had to donate more than $1 million to charities in 2018 after releasing details about Red Dead Redemption 2 prior to the game’s release and issued an apology.
