In the past, the launch of the iPhone in stores attracted a lot of attention, and when the launch date of a new series came, we saw huge queues of people in front of the stores wanting to get their iPhones as soon as possible. In other words, iPhone release dates were always a big hit. However, over time this has changed. So what happened that disappeared all of a sudden with this tail?

Apple has become one of the biggest names in the industry rather than a major but small one, with sales of $366 billion last year, a massive increase over the $24 billion return on all iPhone sales in 2007.

The technology industry has also grown with Apple. While billions of people were online on their computers in 2007, the scale is now much larger. Currently the world’s largest social network, Facebook has more than 2.9 billion members who log in every month. The global smartphone market in those years was less than ten percent of its current size. However, despite all these growths, the sale of iPhones no longer creates the old effect.

Industry followers, historians and analysts point out that there are many different reasons why queues are no longer forming as they used to be. One of the simplest reasons is seen as the rise of e-commerce. Today, many people prefer to have their phones, including their iPhones, taken over the internet and brought to their homes. Also, the fact that smartphones are more common now largely removes the effect of being the first person in your neighborhood to have a new phone.

And finally, Apple is now able to launch a large number of devices on the market from day one. In other words, it doesn’t make much sense to queue up and buy one of the limited number of iPhones.
