MAK Consulting carried out a study examining how people in our country view the coronavirus vaccine. The research titled “Social Overview of the COVID-19 Vaccine in Turkey” revealed striking results. The research, which was carried out with 5,700 participants in 67 cities, reveals that it is very difficult for us to reach herd immunity. If you wish, now; Let’s look at the results of that research.

According to the research, 14 percent of the participants state that they are clearly against the vaccine, thinking that the vaccine does not work. Even this rate alone is a clear indication that the social immunity in Turkey cannot exceed 86 percent. In addition, according to 14 percent of the participants, they do not think that there is a link between not getting vaccinated and the spread of the virus. Again, 14 percent do not believe that the coronavirus is important enough to threaten our lives.

Restrictions are challenged

24 percent of respondents oppose coronavirus restrictions. According to these people, it is not the right approach for people who have not been vaccinated to be taken to certain places or to face different difficulties. Also; Also, 41 percent of those surveyed do not believe the restrictions are beneficial. On the other hand; The answers given by the participants make us think that the number of people caught in the coronavirus in Turkey is much higher than the announced ones.

MAK Consulting also touched upon the vaccines administered in Turkey within the scope of the research. In this context; 50 percent of the participants find Sinovac safer than BioNTech due to its traditional production technique. However, according to 30 percent of the participants, Sinovac’s testing process was not sufficient. The rate of those who consider this situation for BioNTech is 50 percent.
