If the technology crosses a certain threshold, vehicles that slide over magnetic fields seem to have great success when it comes to efficient travel. Maglev trains using this technology seem unrivaled in efficiency and speed. For example, it is possible to see trains traveling at 600 kilometers per hour using this technology in Japan.
According to a report in Chinese media outlet Xinhua, the country is testing eight new vehicles, five of which are using new, efficient energy technologies. As can be seen from the video below, two tests have been carried out and a speed of 230 kilometers per hour has been reached and the vehicles are floating 35 millimeters above the ground. Of course, currently, Maglev is far behind the speed of trains, but if the stability problems are resolved, this new technology flying cars looks like it’s pretty open. If the roads are designed accordingly, a major milestone in efficient transportation will be skipped.

It has not been announced what the researchers will do next, but the tests were conducted by local transport agencies and will be used as a resource in preparing road designs for high-speed travel.
