Russia Accelerates Cryptocurrency Studies

Ivan Chebeskov, director of the financial stability department of the Ministry of Finance, informed Russian news agency Izvestia about the possibility of starting cross-border trades using cryptocurrencies as early as 2023. Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Financial Market Committee, also confirmed the situation.

The Central Bank noted that there was no mention of legalizing cryptocurrency as a means of payment in the Russian Federation, as well as allowing crypto exchanges and crypto exchanges within the country. At the same time, it was reported that the Ministry of Finance and the Central Ministry started joint studies with the instruction of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
