Apple today announced the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, featuring technologies that will take users to the next level of iPhone experience.
In the leak news about the iPhone 13 series, it was stated that the devices could be called iPhone 12s. Because the general opinion was that the new generation iPhones would not come with major design changes. However, Apple did not use the “s” terminology and named its new smartphones as iPhone 13.
Design
Apple released the 6.1-inch screen iPhone 13 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max models in 2021 without any change in size. A radical change in the design of the devices was not expected. In this context, it is striking that the iPhone 13 Pro models are slightly thicker than their predecessors and the camera block has grown.
It should also be noted that the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are slightly heavier than the iPhone 12 models due to their increased battery capacities. On the other hand, it was announced that the devices will be available in four color options. Graphite, silver, gold and sky blue.
Screen
The screen of Apple’s 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max models offers a 120Hz refresh rate. This will provide users with a smoother visual experience when scrolling, playing videos and playing games.
The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max models come with LTPO display technology, which means that the power consumption of their screens will be reduced by 15 to 20 percent.
Smaller notch
Let’s come to the notch part, which iPhone users are not very pleased with. It has been said for a long time that Apple will shrink the notches on the screen in every new generation iPhone model, and this was also true for the iPhone 13 series. Along with the front camera and sensor arrangements made by Apple, the notch of the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max has been reduced by 20%.
It is said that the company will continue the notch reduction process with the iPhone 14 model and will switch to under-screen camera technology in future iPhone models.
A15 Bionic Processor
Apple used the 5nm+ A15 chipset produced by TSMC in the 2021 iPhone models. It is stated that this processor, called A15 Bionic, offers a performance increase in speed and efficiency compared to the A14. Because in the speed tests, it was revealed that the A15 GPU offered a high performance up to 198 FPS.
Apple ordered 100 million A15 Bionic processors from TSMC in late May to avoid problems with the iPhone 13 series. The company expects that there will be high demand for iPhone 13 models.
Camera
Note that the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are equipped with a new 6-element camera. Current iPhone 12 Pro models were equipped with a 5-element ultra-wide-angle lens. The iPhone 13 Pro series features an upgraded Ultra Wide camera with an improved f/1.8 aperture that lets in more light and provides better performance in low-light conditions.
It was also noted that the autofocus feature of the camera has been improved compared to the iPhone 12, and it can capture clearer images regardless of the distance of the object from the lens. When it comes to camera design, it should be noted that the protrusion of the rear camera unit has increased a little more.
Higher battery capacity
iPhone 13 Pro Max has a battery with a capacity of 4352 mAh. Let us remind you that this capacity is 3687 mAh in the Phone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 Pro comes with a battery capacity of 3095 mAh. In the iPhone 12 Pro model, this capacity was limited to 2815 mAh.
It is stated that the A15 chip will offer further efficiency improvements and iPhone 13 Pro models will have 15-20 percent lower power consumption to offset the impact of high refresh rate displays on battery life. Let’s also say that the devices have 20W fast charging support.
