The latest video, prepared by YouTuber MD Talk YT, seems to be trouble for Xiaomi. According to the YouTuber’s claim, a woman kept her Redmi 6A phone next to her pillow while she was sleeping. The phone exploded for an as yet undetermined reason, killing the woman.
Xiaomi stated that it has launched an investigation into this issue, which confused India, and that the accident has not yet been confirmed. It is also unclear whether the Redmi 6A has been damaged before or whether its battery is original.
YouTuber shared some photos to give more details about the event. Claiming that the Redmi model was completely burned and unusable, MD Talk YT also revealed a photo showing the woman dead.
“Customer safety is extremely important and we take such matters very seriously,” Xiaomi said in a statement. At this point, our team is trying to contact the affected family and determine the cause of the incident. “We stand by the family during this difficult time and hope to support them in any way possible.”
Redmi 6A owners don’t need to worry yet, though. It is unknown under what circumstances the phone exploded or whether it was previously damaged. The YouTuber also said that he is waiting for support from Xiaomi and Redmi.
