There won’t be a second season, said Bela Bajaria, head of Netflix’s Global Productions. Although Bajaria did not say this directly, he implied it in his interview. The main reason why the 2nd season won’t be coming, at least not in the near future, is undoubtedly that Squid Game’s screenwriter and director Hwang Dong-hyuk is busy with different projects.
