Apple announced the iPhone 14 family at the Far Out event it held recently. But the entry model of the 2022 model iPhone series was the iPhone 14. So why did Apple give up on the smaller-screen mini model, will the iPhone 15 mini be announced?

We may see iPhone SE 4th generation instead of iPhone 14 mini

The mini models, which first entered our lives with the iPhone 12 series, did not succeed in being long-lasting. Although it has as strong technical features as the other models, Apple has failed to find users who love small screens.

For example, a study in the US reported that the iPhone 12 mini accounted for only 5 percent of all iPhone 12 sales. Another study revealed that Apple has cut production of two million ‌iPhone 12‌ mini‌ in order to increase the production of ‌iPhone 12‌ Pro.

It is possible to say that a similar situation is experienced in the iPhone 13 family. While the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models have reached record-breaking sales figures since last year, the iPhone 13 mini failed to meet expectations.

A study conducted in April revealed that the ‌iPhone 13‌ mini only accounts for 3 percent of all ‌iPhone 13‌ sales. In the same period, the ‌iPhone 12 mini‌ was only around 6 percent of the iPhone 12 family.

In its previous statements, Apple revealed that they followed user requests and headed for the iPhone SE model in this direction.

Although the future of the iPhone SE is uncertain, Apple’s small-screen models will continue as SE. It should be noted that the last SE device is the iPhone SE (3rd generation), which was announced in March.
