The 13-year-old chimpanzee, who escaped from the Kharkiv Zoo in Ukraine, took a leisurely stroll for a few hours in the northeastern region of the city. When he decided he didn’t like the rain, he was persuaded to come back by the zoo staff in exchange for wearing a jacket and being carried home by bike.

The escape master named Chichi escaped from her current home on Monday. He walked around with ease while avoiding the zookeepers. Went from a university to a nearby town square.

Victoria Kozyreva, one of the staff at the Kharkiv Zoo who helped persuade Chichi to return home, told NBC News: “Chimps are extremely intelligent creatures, it wasn’t hard for her to break the fence. After I heard her go, I followed her to the square and I started talking to him,” she said.

In the video below, a zookeeper is seen sitting with Chichi near a park in hopes of bringing her back. Unfortunately, we can only imagine the conversation that took place between them.

These talks turned in favor of the sitter as the drizzle began, and Chichi, probably not wanting to wet her gorgeous hair, rushed to the nearby zoo attendant. The zoo worker took off his bright yellow raincoat and helped Chichi put on the raincoat. The chimpanzee was delighted with this fashionable outerwear and hugged it.

Chichi then completed her adventure by getting on a babysitter’s bike.

Zoo director Oleksiy Grigoriev told Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne that Chichi has returned safely to her home and is in good health.

Chichi has had a chaotic and sad few months. He previously lived in Feldman Ecopark and was evacuated to Kharkiv Zoo when violent fighting broke out in March. Ecopark has been closed permanently.

Unfortunately, more than 100 animals at the Feldman Ecopark were killed in rocket attacks and some animals were euthanized. This devastating event also resulted in the deaths of at least six employees and volunteers of the park.
