Making a rapid entry into the electric vehicle market, Hyundai accelerated its work for the new IONIQ model. The specifications of the Hyundai IONIQ 5N have been leaked.
It is stated that the IONIQ 5N model, whose spy photo was taken on the Nurburgring track in the past days, will be high performance. Although no official statement has been made about the new model yet, it is estimated that it will be introduced in 2022.
Hyundai IONIQ 5N features revealed
Albert Biermann, former head of Hyundai’s N division and current technical executive advisor, gave some hints about the IONIQ 5N. The IONIQ 5N, which is stated to be faster than the i30 N model, will meet expectations in terms of performance. It is worth remembering that the standard all-wheel drive IONIQ 5 model also has better performance than the i30 N.
According to the leaked information, the new model will have a power between 580 and 620 horsepower. Allegedly, the company increased the frequency of tests on the Nurburgring track in order to achieve better performance.
Making a statement on the subject, Biermann stated that Hyundai engineers focused on the driving feeling of the vehicle instead of horsepower. Known to have a weight of approximately 2.2 tons, the Hyundai IONIQ 5N will take the driving pleasure to the next level with its drift mode.
It is known that the new model will use Hyundai Motor Group’s new platform E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform), as in the IONIQ 5. However, the company will include the Kia EV6 GT drivetrain in the IONIQ 5N model.
