The claim that the TikTok database was seized and the data of more than 2 billion users and the backend codes of the application was stolen the other day created a big agenda. After the allegations, an official statement from TikTok was shared and it was stated that no trace of the data leak was found.

While the authenticity of the data leak about TikTok is still being questioned, there was chaos in the hacker forum where the leak was shared. The account of the hacker who shared the data on the forum was closed. It was reported that the share was previously deleted by the hacker himself. While the said post was republished by the forum management upon request, this time an important statement from the forum owner was also included.

The forum owner claimed that the hacker was a liar:

“Staff edit: This thread has been restored due to multiple requests back. AgainstTheWest initially deleted it. Please note that the breach is not from TikTok and he is most likely lying or not even investigating before making such outrageous claims. AgainstTheWest has a long history of lying about breaches or other things (saying it’s a State-sponsored hacking group… haha) and that was the last straw.”

The hacker’s Twitter account was also closed:

On the other hand, the hacker also included important information in his latest update in his post on the forum. Saying that Twitter accounts were closed for some reason, the hacker claimed that the size of the database was 6.7 TB, not 790 GB. Hacker continued his words as follows:

“As for people (and TikTok itself) claiming that the leak is not from TikTok, can they explain why cookies are saved in the examples given at the time and there is so much information? As soon as the news reached Twitter, I find it very suspicious that we were suspended even though we did not share information on the platform. Maybe TikTok is pulling some strings to silence us…”

In these words, the hacker claims that the leak about TikTok is real and that TikTok is trying to prevent the spread of the leak news, while the forum owner and TikTok’s statements say that this leak is not real. It is also worth noting that fake data leak topics are opened from time to time in the forum in question.
