AMD will support the AM5 platform that comes with Ryzen 7000 until 2025

Announcing the Ryzen 7000 series processors as part of a special event, AMD announced that it moved to the new AM5 platform with these processors. The new platform will host Zen 4 and beyond.

As part of the event organized by AMD, the Ryzen 7000 processors, announced by the company’s CEO Lisa Su, come with the new AM5 socket platform. The new AM5 platform is designed to support AMD’s Ryzen 7000 and later.

AMD has already officially confirmed that they will use the AM5 platform until at least 2025. The AM4 socket, which is currently in use, has been in use for almost 5 years. AMD will also offer similar long-term and predictable support for the AM5 socket. According to Lisa Su, the AM5 platform will continue to receive support until at least 2025 and beyond.

When we look at AMD’s processor roadmap, we will see that the AM5 platform hosts at least four generations of Zen processors in total, including Zen 4, Zen 4 V-Cache, Zen 5 and beyond. On the other hand, the first Ryzen 7000 series processors using the AM5 platform will begin to take their place on the shelves on September 27.
