During the AMD launch, CEO Lisa Su introduced the Ryzen 7000 processors, but did not provide any details about the integrated graphics unit, which is an extremely important part of these processors. After the event, it was confirmed that the Ryzen 7000 processors listed on AMD’s official site come with an integrated graphics unit.
Built on AMD’s Zen 4 architecture, the Ryzen 7000 family will initially launch with four processors: Ryzen 9 7950X, Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X. All of the processors, which will be released on September 27, will have the same Radeon graphics unit. The announced processors will have 2 processing units, each containing 64 stream processors. According to the details shared by AMD, the graphics units will run at 400 MHz base and 2.2 GHz boost frequency.
AMD introduced Ryzen 7000 processors: Here are the prices and features
A first for AMD
AMD will include the integrated graphics unit for the first time in its processors without the “G” tag. The current AM4 socket platform hosted many APUs based on Vega-based Renoir and Cezanne silicons. The integration of Radeon RDNA 2 into Ryzen 7000 processors makes us wonder about the company’s future RDNA 3-based APUs with integrated GPUs.
Ryzen 7000 graphics unit won’t be powerful
However, it should be noted that the integrated GPU in the Ryzen 7000 processors is not strong enough to compete with the company’s APU solutions. So much so that these integrated graphics units are strong enough to offer only one third of the Steam Deck in terms of performance. Therefore, it would not be right to expect any game performance.
