Apple Watch Pro straps could be custom
There has never been a compatibility issue as Apple has hardly changed the design of the Apple Watch until now. Every Apple Watch model comes in two sizes: a smaller version and a 4mm larger version. For example; We’ve seen 38mm 42mm case sizes on models up to the Watch Series 3. With Series 4, the case size has been increased to 40mm and 44mm. Series 7 came in 41mm and 45mm case sizes. Looking back, we see that the case size has only grown by 3mm over the years. This means that the wearer can use the old straps on the new model as long as they do not switch from the smaller watch to the larger watch. Which is great considering the original straps of the Apple Watch are quite expensive, but that seems to change with the Apple Watch Pro.
Design change in Apple Watch Pro
Rumors are that the Apple Watch Pro (perhaps the Apple Watch Series 8 Pro) will be slightly larger than the standard model and appeal to certain people. The Watch Pro is said to have a case size of 47mm. Since there will be a significant increase of 6.9mm, the straps for the 38mm, 40mm and 41mm Apple Watch will not fit the Pro model. The straps of 42mm, 44mm and 45mm Apple Watches will not be fully compatible with the Watch 8 Pro. Apple is also expected to make minor design changes in this model.
Apple Watch Pro may have 47mm case size
The Apple Watch Pro model is expected to be introduced with the iPhone 14 series at the event to be held on September 7. The iPhone 14 event will be a virtual event consisting of pre-recorded videos and can be watched live on YouTube, Apple event page as usual.
