AMD launched the Zen 3 Ryzen 9 5950X model last year with a price tag of $ 799. Introducing the Ryzen 9 7950X processor with Zen 4 architecture this year, the company announced that the new model will be sold for $ 699. The new model will be $100 cheaper than the previous generation.
AMD didn’t just promise great gaming performance with its most powerful and highest-spec processor at the event held in Austin today. CEO Lisa Su also showed how far the flagship processor is ahead of Intel’s Core i9 12900K in terms of gaming.
At the event, processor performance was demonstrated with 5 different games, including Cyberpunk 2077 and GTA V. AMD presented the processors it introduced this year to users with a lower price policy than the previous models.
The Ryzen 9 7950X model has 16 cores and 32 threads. The processor, which has a standard clock speed of 4.5GHz, can go up to 5.7GHz when overclocked. The company announced the cache of the processor as 80 MB and the TDP as 170W.
Ryzen 7 7700X processor appeared with 8 cores and 16 threads. The processor, which has a standard clock speed of 4.5GHz, can reach 5.4GHz with overclocking. Introduced with 40 MB cache and 105W TDP, the price of the processor will be $ 399.
The Ryzen 7000 family will launch at the end of September, along with an all-new motherboard chipset and socket. The new X670 and X670 Extreme motherboards will launch simultaneously with many, much more expensive options like Asus, Gigabyte and MSI, starting at $125.
