The memory support of the new Z790 motherboards, which will debut with Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake processors, has also begun to emerge. The new Z790 motherboards will offer enhanced DDR5 and DDR4 memory support for the upcoming Raptor Lake processors.
According to information revealed in a datasheet purportedly owned by MSI, motherboards with Z790 chipsets will offer higher DDR5 and DDR4 memory speeds than currently available Z690 motherboards. A total of three models using this platform have been leaked. One of these models supports DDR5 memory, while the other two offer DDR4 memory support.

Faster memories will be supported
According to the leaked information, motherboards will have JEDEC DDR5-5600 support by default. We can say that the information that has emerged on this subject before has been confirmed. However, the previous generation Alder Lake had support for DDR5-4800 by default. However, DDR5 memory installations up to 6800+MHz will be allowed on MEG series Z790 motherboards, which is MSI’s high-end gaming solution. In addition, the DDR4 memory support of Z790 motherboards will reach up to 5333+MHz.
Intel Z790 motherboards are expected to launch alongside 13th generation Raptor Lake processors in October. On the other hand, the AMD Ryzen 7000 family is expected to enter the market on similar dates with the new AM5 socket.
