New generation processors on both AMD and Intel will enter the market this year. So, are the Ryzen 7000 or Intel 13th generation processors ahead in the performance test?

Both Ryzen 7000 processors based on AMD’s Zen 4 core architecture and Intel’s 13th generation Core processors will be released within the year. Many synthetic performance tests have emerged from both AMD and Intel’s new generation processor families. In this context, in unofficial performance tests, we can theoretically see how fast the new generation processors are compared to the previous generation.

According to the benchmarks based on CPU-z test results, Intel is expected to be ahead of AMD in single-core performance in the next generation as well. But it looks like we will see intense competition in AMD’s multi-core performance again. We see that the Core i9 13900K processor is 15 percent faster than the Ryzen 9 7950X in single-core performance. In the multi-core test, they get almost the same result.

With the Core i9 13900K, Intel seems to have increased single-core performance by 10 percent over the previous generation Core 19 13700K. On the multi-core side, the increase is around 40 percent. AMD’s top model, Ryzen 9 7950X, is around 20 percent in a single core compared to the previous generation. More than 15 percent increase promised by AMD seems to have been achieved here. On the other hand, on the multi-core side, Ryzen 9 7950X is 40 percent ahead of Ryzen 9 5950X.

On the side of Intel’s other 13th generation processor, the Core i7 13700K, there is an 11 percent increase in single-core performance and a 20 percent increase in multi-core performance compared to the previous generation. AMD’s new generation Ryzen 7700X processor is 20 percent faster in single-core than Ryzen 7 5800X and 20 percent faster in multi-core.

Intel’s single-core strength continues

When we look at the synthetic tests based on CPU-z and the Cinebench R20 data in general, we see that Intel maintains its leadership in single-core performance and is very close to its rival in multi-core performance. However, it should be noted again that these results are based on unofficial synthetic tests. It should be noted that the processors tested here are engineering samples, and there may be differences between them and the final product. However, it is useful to consider these data in order to give a general idea.

AMD is expected to unveil the Ryzen 7000 processor family on August 29 and launch it for the year in the following months. Intel is expected to launch its 13th generation processors in October, along with AMD, in the same period.
