Mobile money transfer app Cash App is facing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of hacking attacks.

The locked doors of the digital world are opened again with digital keys. The digital power in the hands of hackers also causes companies to invest more in security measures. Another incident where the firewall was breached took place in the Cash App application, founded by the former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey.

Cash App in Trouble with Hack Attacks

Digital payment application Cash App has been struggling with hackers recently. Multiple users of Cash App have reported that hackers stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds and sold them on the deep web.

Hackers break into users’ accounts and steal hundreds of dollars. User information is sold on the decent web. They go one step further and shop for themselves via cards.

It is not yet known how many accounts were hacked in total and the material extent of the damage. The Cash App official website encourages users to make sure that two-factor authentication is enabled on their linked email address.

Here’s a Cash App spokesperson’s statement to Motherboard:

We are constantly improving systems and activities to help prevent, detect and respond to attacks on the platform. We invite anyone who believes they have been the victim of identity theft or account hijacking attacks to reach out to Cash App Support, where we will review the account in question. If fraud is detected, we will take appropriate action, starting with account closure and deactivation of all related products.
