Apple’s 14-inch and 16-inch Macbook Pro models are on the horizon, but aren’t expected to arrive for a while. According to the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new models will both be delayed and will not use TSMC’s latest production technology.
According to Kuo, Apple will adopt the old production process that it currently uses on MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 processors on 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. If this rumor is true, we will not see 3nm chips that are said to be used in new MacBooks first. So we can expect TSMC’s advanced 5nm lithography to be featured on 14-inch and 16-inch MacBooks. However, it is stated that the new MacBook Pros will enter mass production in the 4th quarter and will be released early next year.

Earlier reports indicated that 14-inch and 16-inch MacBooks, which will use Apple’s M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, will be released this fall. It was stated that these chips would be produced with TSMC’s new 3nm process and would bring performance gains.
