HBO has shared the first footage from the live-action adaptation of The Last of Us. In a trailer the publisher posted on YouTube just before the House of the Dragon premiere, we see nearly 20 seconds of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie.
The footage, despite its short duration, was enough to excite the fans of the game. We see an exchange between Joel and Ellie taken directly from the original game. There’s even a flashback featuring Joel’s biological daughter. The footage also offers a glimpse into Nick Offerman’s role as Bill.
Expectations are already high for the series. In addition to a star-studded cast, Neil Druckmann, the game’s original creative director, is also on the project as writer, developer, and executive producer.
The series is expected to premiere in early 2023. The first season will consist of 10 episodes.
