Judging by the leaks and certifications, the Mate 50 series will consist of four models: Mate 50, Mate 50e, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS Edition.

Huawei Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS models are expected to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. However, Huawei may limit models other than Pro to 4G LTE connectivity. On the camera side, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS are expected to use IMX800, Mate 50’s IMX766 sensor. All three models are expected to have telephoto lenses.

Huawei P50 Pro and RS Edition may come with 12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options. It is said that the Mate 50 will come with 8GB of RAM and there will be no 512GB storage option. Mate 50 Pro and RS models will be powered by a 4500mAh battery. The Mate 50 model will come with a 4400mAh battery. All three models will support 66w fast charging.

Who will produce the Huawei Mate 50 series screens?

Mate 50 smartphones can use BOE’s OLED displays. The 120Hz refresh rate, OLED panel and curved design may be exclusive to the Mate 50 Pro model. The Mate 50 is expected to come with a non-curved LTPS display and a 90Hz screen refresh rate. Similar to Huawei’s other smartphones, upcoming new models will run on HarmonyOS 3.0.
