Volkswagen has taken an important step in this regard and announced that it will only sell electric cars in Norway from 2024. The German brand will cease all sales of petrol, diesel and hybrid cars in Norway from 1 January 2024.

Tesla Model Y was the best-selling electric vehicle in Norway in the first half of 2022. It is followed by Volkswagen ID.4 and Škoda Enyaq. Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4 were other prominent electric vehicles in the region. Norway is a very suitable country for electric car owners thanks to its charging infrastructure.

Volkswagen offers the ID.3 and ID.5 models, as well as the ID.4, which achieved successful sales in Norway. The brand’s electric hatchback model ID.3 had previously achieved successful sales in Norway. After the increase in electric car models, the sales of this vehicle have decreased a little more.

Electric cars are becoming more and more popular all over the world. Norway seems to hoist the flag in this regard. In the coming period, there may be significant decreases in the sales of internal combustion engine vehicles in other countries.
